International Peace Bureau har jobbet for fred i Verden i 100år og det skal markeres i Oslo fra 23.-26.september. Dette blir en helkveld på BLÅ med musikere 5 av Norges aller beste jazzmusikere og to elektronisk duoer.

Lørdag 25.september er det konserter på BLÅ med:

Bugge Wesseltoft / Anders Engen / Paolo Vinacci / Jon Klette / Jonny Sjo

Dette er kremen av norsk jazzmusikk og den nordiske lyden som er kjent over hele Verden. Det vil i tillegg være en gitarist med. Bugge Wesseltoft er like kjent i utlandet som i hjemlandet med sitt plateselskap Jazzland og sine mange utgivelser solo og med andre musikere. Bugge spiller på Rhodes denne kvelden.
Ved siden av å spille trommer Anders Engen har produsert for store norske artister som Bjørn Eidsvåg, Vidar Busk blant annet. Paolo Vinnacci har vært endel av musikknorge i en mannsalder. Har spilt med uttrlig mange artister og det er kvalitet hver gang. Paolo spiller trommer.

Gutten som løper fra stivpyntede opptredener på Operaen til fullsatte og svette klubbgigs på en og sammme dag. Han er en like naturlig del av programmet på internasjonale perfomance-kunst festivaler og motevisninger som på Øya-festivalen og tv-program som Lydverket og Store Studio. Han har jevnlige sidelange omtaler i de største norske avisene og utenlandske blader som Interview Magazine. Alt dette var innen han hadde sluppet så mye som en singel - og nå er det debutalbumet sluppet: Look Back!

sgrowNokså ferskt band. Består av paret Vile Ilkama Nupen og Kristoffer Lislegaard. Det er knitrete, elektronisk og vakkert.  Ble utrolig godt mottatt på konserten de hadde under Punktfestivalen i Kristiansand for nylig. Spilte også under Oslo Jazzfestival.

Under the broad title ‘A Climate for Peace’ we will organise – together with the Norwegian Peace Council - an intensive programme of discussions, social gatherings and cultural events. 100 years of peacemaking
One hundred years ago, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the Permanent International Peace Bureau. With this decision the Norwegian Nobel Committee recognized the leading role of the IPB in the international movement for peace and disarmament. Founded in 1891 in Bern, the IPB was at the time a unique co-operative structure, bringing radical, as well as liberal and conservative, champions of peace together in one organization. IPB's contribution as a key NGO player was evident during the first international peace conference in 1899 which gave rise to the Hague Conventions and other international law milestones. Since those early years, the IPB has worked hard as a federation of organisations to incorporate different levels of activity, and to harmonise a variety of perspectives on the challenge of peacemaking. Over the decades, despite two world wars and many conflicts and controversies, a wide range of individuals and organizations have succeeded in working together within the IPB framework to strengthen the ties among peace and disarmament communities around the world.

Connecting the past to the future
On the occasion of the centenary of the Nobel award to IPB, we propose to draw a line connecting the early history of international peace promotion and its pioneers to the challenges of the present day. In accordance with IPB’s broad vision (‘working together for a world without war’) our aim is to strengthen the partnerships between different currents in the peace movement, and to raise the question of what peace work in the coming century will look like. The title A Climate for Peace is both a reference to rapidly growing global environmental concerns, and a reminder that progress in peacemaking depends on creating a positive political and social atmosphere in which specific policies can be adopted.
