With Rainer Kern, Pelle Lidell, Graham McKenzie and Sigtryggur Baldursson

The Norwegian constitution celebrates 200 years, and Musikkforum invites four distinguished music figures to share their views on Norwegian music and it's industry. Seen from their perspective, what kind of identities and structures constitute Norwegian music? And what challenges and opportunities may the future bring?

Welcome to an exclusive panel discussion about genre, history, artistic relevance and commercial expansion. The panel is moderated by journalist Kristin Winsents from The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK).

Rainer Kern
is director and founder of Enjoy Jazz Festival in Germany. The festival is known for it's open, genre bending approach and is one of the most important jazz festivals in the world today. Kern has worked with Norwegian artists such as Jan Garbarek and Nils Petter Molvær, to name a few.

Pelle Lidell
is European A&R Executive of Universal Music Group. Swedish Lidell started as a drummer in punk and new wave bands, and moved on to session drumming and A&R management in LA in the nineties. Lidell is an experienced music publisher; he also sat as member of the jury in the Swedish IDOL TV show in 2011.

Graham McKenzie
is artistic director of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in the UK. McKenzie has kept close attention to Norwegian contemporary music and has been a key person in bringing many Norwegian composers to an international audience.

Sigtryggur Baldursson
is director of Iceland Music Export. Baldursson, together with Björk, experienced international success with their band The Sugarcubes between 1988-92. Baldursson has unique experience in communicating music, as director of Iceland Music Export, record producer and musician.
